His apparently endless stream of warped and bizarre ideas, not to mention really bad (and therefore good) puns results in a narrative that will have readers desperate to share with others the 'funny thing they just read'. Eccentric characters, a certain anarchic attitude and no limits to what can (and often does) happen, The Floods: Home & Away is another great read for those already addicted to Thompson's work or a great introduction for those who haven't yet met this master storyteller.
