Bear finds that he has an unexpected visitor. Flea bites bear – not to be rude, just to say, 'hello'. Unfortunately Bear doesn't react quite the way Flea had hoped and soon Bear is doing everything he can to get rid of Flea.
Nick Bland (Twinkle) has a great talent for creating humorous, touching illustrations that have the reader laughing out loud at the same time as they're making sounds of sympathy. Text and illustrations are completely interdependent, each enriching and expanding the other and drawing the reader into the world of the story. Flea is almost invisible yet Blank, through his illustrations and simple text, projects a personality as large and determined as Bear's.
Great fun and cleverly crafted, The Very Itchy Bear is going to be a favourite with youngsters.
