Over the years there has been considerable debate about what constitutes ‘school readiness’, and, as in the case in most debates, there are a number of answers. This five page paper by Mimi Wellisch will attempt to synthesise current research as well as address the issue of when parents should consider early entry for potentially gifted preschoolers.

Each item is nonetheless written by individuals with varying experience and perspectives of gifted children and represents the author's views, rather than necessarily those of the NSWAGTC (unless they are marked as Position Statements).
